Guest Author...LaVerne Thompson

Hello LaVerne...so nice to see you again. First off, congratulations on your first self publication, Dragon's Heart. How did you come up with the idea for the story? Have you always wanted to write about dragons?

Hi Scar - Thank you for hosting me on your site.LOL. Yes. I've always loved dragons. Come on the idea of a fire breathing beast what 's not to love. LOL. Seriously read pretty much all the dragon classics and some more recent works on dragons, but for me there was always something missing. I didn't just want to have a dragon friend, I wanted to be a dragon that's how the world of the brethren began. My world tells the story of the dragons they came to be here and how it is there came to be dragon shifters on earth who could shift between dragon and human forms at will.

Wow. That is fascinating. I must admit, I have read this story and for all you Dragon lovers out there and those who aren't yet...you WILL be after you get your hands on this book.

Tell us a little about Journey of the Ice Princess. I have read this story too and I must say I am a HUGE fan of Arch *blushes*

Yes that fire demon is one of my favorites and no matter where he is he tends to bring the heat. I thought he was the perfect foil for my heroine, Ice. I wanted to tell a story about a woman that was an ice princess in the literal sense. Ice chips flows through her veins. She loves the cold and was untouchable because she was an ice elemental and her skin gave off waves of cold instead of heat. I figured someone like that if she roamed around warm bloodied people would be lonely and truly untouchable. But I added another element in that she was the last of her kind, she believes, because her world was destroyed. So she searched the world for a place to belong for the touch of another. Enter her exact opposite, a demon, a fire elemental. They should have nothing in common in fact should cancel each other out. They don't.

*giggles* I know!!! I know!!! That is why he is sooo HAWT!
How many ongoing projects do you have? How in the world do you find the time to keep up with them all?

I usually have at least 3 writing projects in various states. I just finished something I co-wrote with a friend and new author that was accepted by Horny Devil Publishing, Dark Mist so that should be out in the next few months. The active projects are book 2 for my Brethren Series, and my Children of the Sea series. But I'm also working on something under my pen name, Ursula Sinclair, a romantic suspense. I don't sleep that's pretty much how. lol

Ummm, yeah. I can see that. *laughs*
Would you care to share an excerpt from any of your WIPs or current books?

Oh here's something from Dragon's Blood, Talon's story. It's raw.

The bright silver light glowing from the center of Window Rock seemed even brighter against the otherwise black background, like power was still building and thunder echoed from its center. The air drifted ripe with the scent of an electric charge, but nothing could be seen except the light. When they got nearer they noticed a shadow move on one side of the stone arch. Yet neither could sense any one or anything, as though the power generating from the portal dulled some of their senses.
Lightening gathered overhead then struck the empty space within the Window causing the structure to glow even more so for a moment it looked like daylight. Darryl released his wife’s hand and reached into his jacket, pulling out the Beretta semi-auto he carried. He could command great amounts of powerful magicks, but sometimes something else was called for. Stay behind me.

Oh. Well now I want more...hahaha. *rubs hands together* Can't wait for this next book to come out. Thanks for sharing.

What advice would you give to struggling writers?

Don't stop. Keep writing.

What are some things people/fans may not know about you that you would like to share?

Hmmm...I'm hooked on the show Scandal. lol

hahahaha I've been watching that, too. It's hard not too once you get hooked.

Tell me:

One favorite book: Pride and Prejudice
One movie: Pitch Black
One color: Blue
One smell: the scent of rain
One moment in time: When the stick turned pink.

Awww. I love your last answer. *grins*

I want to thank LaVerne for being my guest today.

Don't forget to leave a comment below  to be included in a drawing for a special prize!

What happens when fire meets ice?

JOURNEY OF THE PRINCESS OF ICE -
THE ELEMENTALS

Ice had traveled the realms for centuries searching for the ice elementals, others of her kind but she was alone always alone. Never staying one place for long because sooner or later her mere presence caused the temperature of the land to drop to a killing freeze. Until she found the one place her powers had no effect. And perhaps the one being who could counter her freeze.

Running from a destiny not of his own choosing, Arch finally found the one person who could make him stop running. But Ice must never learn the truth. A fire demon destroyed her world and he was his father’s son.

Guest Author...Tess Black

Hi all! Before I begin telling you a bit about myself and my book, I’d like to thank the amazing Scarlet Hunter for hosting me again today. She was kind enough to have me visit her blog this past November as well, when Heart and Soul was published. So, I’m getting rather comfy here – I just may grab a Diet Coke and my laptop and settle in for a bit. *continues typing and ignores Junebug when she gives her the blatant kitty stare of “I don’t think so.”*

We’re on day four of the Diamonds and Divas Book Tour and I have to say I’ve been having fun! I’m the caboose on this train, the newbie in the writing field. The other Divas are extremely talented and fantastically creative. Seriously. I’m learning so much. They really have their sh*t together and I’m honored to be included on this tour with them.

If you’re following the tour – which I hope you are – please remember to leave a comment on each blog stop. It’s easy peasy and at the end of the tour you might be the lucky winner of nine ebooks; one from each of the Diva authors. For shits and giggles, I’m offering an additional prize today. One randomly chosen reader who leaves a comment on my blog post will receive a $10 gift card to Amazon. Let the commenting commence!

Just the facts, ma’am…
As I mentioned above, I’m a first time author but hope to lose that title soon. I’m also the mother of two awesome daughters who consider their mom’s taste in reading and writing to be a little off. Sexy romances with hot demons, vampires, shifters, and elves – not their cup of tea; yet, they’re good eggs and support my dream anyway.

At present, I’m working on book two of my Solaria Trilogy, which will be Tolan’s story. In case you haven’t read my current book, Tolan is a younger brother who makes a brief appearance in Heart and Soul. He’s a bit of a rebel and a devil-may-care kind of elf. You know the type; hot guy with an attitude to match and a mischievous streak a mile wide.

Somewhat different than his brother, is my hero in Heart and Soul, the alluring and sexy Caelan Virilion. A governing member of the Elven society in Solaria, he is a man who acknowledges his responsibilities while at the same time endeavors to enjoy a simple life. After spending a short interval with Caelan and his gentlemanly ways, the more uptight Greer Ivers, a human rescued from her world by Caelan, begins to relax and come around to his way of thinking; revealing wonton desires that surprise them both.

What would you do if you were given a second chance
at life and love?

Heart and Soul

On a mission to rid herself of her engagement ring, jilted attorney, Greer Ivers, loses control of her vehicle in a freak snowstorm. She finds herself awakening to a mind-blowing world and in the arms of a handsome man. The intriguing Caelan Virilion, a hidden witness to the tragedy from another plane of existence, discovers himself in an unacceptable situation. Spending a few days together in Caelan's world draws them closer in more ways than one and feelings they are fated surface in the heat between them. With only a few days until she must return, will they recognize risks are worth taking for true love?

Excerpt:

Tugging his body closer, Greer stood on tiptoe, touching her lips hesitantly to his, her heated palms resting on his hard chest. “So, this is our last chance to have wild monkey sex in the great outdoors?”
Taken aback by her query, Caelan chuckled deeply. “You certainly have a way with words, kalia’mae.”
“Shhh…forget about talking. Let’s go back to where we were a few minutes ago. I believe I stood something like this.” Leaning back against the tree trunk, she posed, raising her arms above her and hiking her chin up. “And one of your strong hands held mine in place, the other was making my breasts ache with your magical touch. Oh, and your lips. Their yumminess firmly locked with mine, insinuating you wanted to nail me to this tree with that sizable hard-on you were sporting.”
Caelan’s vision grew hazy at her wanton words, and being an intelligent man, he got swiftly back with the program; dissolving their clothes, his shaft springing into action and taking control of the situation. Moving into the stance he’d held before, he silently gave a brisk thanks to the hardwood behind her for its support. Then he went back to rolling her delectably beaded nipple between his fingers and kissing every inch of her luscious body.
“Remember always, kalia, you are mine,” Caelan whispered huskily against her neck. “I will make you forget everything else but my touch so you will hold this memory dear until we meet again,” Caelan promised.
And he did. All thoughts about returning her home fled when he lifted her legs up to wrap around his hips and thrust his rigid cock into her drenched entrance.

About Tess Black:
Tess Black was born in Massachusetts and now resides in a small town in Wisconsin. Throughout her life her secret desire to become a writer had always been pushed to the side to make room for other life events. After spending nineteen years as a stay-at-home mom for two lovely daughters she has now found the perfect time to start her writing career.

Previously an avid reader of most genres, particularly fantasy, she was surprised when several years ago a new friend suggested a book series from a genre she was unfamiliar with, Paranormal Romance. (Shout out to Kiwi!) The rest is history! Although she still reads“normal” fiction here and there, her love of paranormal romances, the edgier the better, has grown into an obsession.

Most days you can find Tess' physical body sitting with her Nook Tablet in hand or in front of her computer typing away. Her mind, though, is off somewhere in an imaginary world. She is currently working on Book Two of the Solaria Trilogy; Tolan’s story.
